It's Upper Body Day

How to Remain Healthy While Staying Home

With changes occurring in the world lately, many of us are spending more time in our houses. It can feel difficult to follow a healthy lifestyle when your gym in Little Elm is closed.

You might have transformed into the teacher, main cook, and parent in your household. Maybe you are working from home now and hoping to establish some organization in the day.

In these unpredictable times, it can be appealing to waste time on the couch, staring at the news and Netflix, and slowly losing your normal workout routine. We may be stuck at home, but we can for sure find ways to preserve a healthy lifestyle! We’ve shared our top helpful habits you can work into your updated everyday routine to keep active, promote your immune system, and keep momentum toward achieving your wellness intentions.

Start Home Workouts

One positive aspect of spending extra time at home is the added space in your everyday agenda. Think about your day. Where can you squeeze in just a few minutes for an at-home workout? A useful sweat session doesn’t need to take a long time to be good for you. As long as your heart rate escalates, you will create fat and calorie-burning benefits! Try our 12-minute home fitness class you can work on anytime, anywhere!

Include Your Kids in Your Workout

The pools may not be open, but there are still a variety of ways to add fun activities your kiddos will want to do. At the end of the day, remaining active isn’t just for parents! Here are a few of our preferred fun (and free!) ways the entire family can stay fit all together:

  • Walk the dog
  • Bring a frisbee out of your house in the sun (hello Vitamin D!)
  • Take a break for a bike ride or roller skate adventure
  • Design a floral arrangement with your homegrown blooms
  • Play ball in the backyard
  • Spot your sidewalk chalk and make a driveway masterpiece
  • Have a dinner cooking match up
  • Turn on the music and have a dance competition

Make Healthy Meals

Are you attempting to avoid the grocery store? That works! This is the time to try new things in the kitchen and incorporate your family’s canned goods and frozen foods. With the kids out of school, long days at work, and everyday household chores, keep your breakfasts, lunches, and dinners straightforward this season.

At FXB, we make good nutrition simple for our members. Start with your favorite protein type from the freezer, find a carb for a side, and incorporate some healthy fat. And you’re done: a healthy meal without the fuss. (And if it’s your fun day, call for a pizza and unwind!)
